Dr. Anthony DeLuca
Anthony L. DeLuca, Ph.D., has been the Director of the Honors College at SUNY Old Westbury since 2012. He has also served as President of the Northeast Regional Honors Council, an organization that has a membership of more than 375 colleges and universities in the Northeastern United States. He has more than 30 years of experience in higher education -- 15 years as a professor of English, and 15 years successively as Academic Director, Assistant Dean, and Dean of Academic Affairs at SUNY and CUNY colleges and universities. As Director of the Honors College, Dr. DeLuca strives to create an educational environment that helps students excel academically and participate in creative endeavors in and beyond college. He regards himself as a strong proponent of the Liberal Arts, but also has great respect for the latest developments in the sciences. He enjoys providing new learning experiences to students that include opera, beekeeping, and growing organic vegetables and fruits via hydroponic and aquaponic gardening and permaculture.
